Role Overview:

The Quality Manager is responsible for the overall quality of the products and the raw materials used by developing and maintaining  quality and operational systems. Quality Manager is a member of the plant leadership team and will be assigned additional responsibilities in other functional areas as required to deliver the plant’s annual operating plan.

The position is for our Elsham facility in the UK.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Acts as a safety leader and puts always safety first. Works together with EHS Manager to establish and maintain all procedures to assure a safe working environment
  • Manage, train and develop all quality department personnel
  • Ensure application and enforcement of all company policies and procedures (Health & Safety; Quality; Hygiene; HR; etc.)
  • Is responsible for quality, quality limits and statistical methods, products and raw materials in such a way that the technical functionality and specification of the products is realised
  • Develops and maintain a management system according to local legislative / ISO 9001 quality standard, the ISO 14001 environmental standard and the BRC / IoP hygiene standard
  • Leads all elements of Quality, customer Quality Interface and Supplier Quality Assurance
  • Oversees compliance to the operation of Quality Management System and reporting areas of shortcomings and deficiencies
  • Leads monitoring of the quality costs and the associated monitoring systems
  • Extracts data from a variety of systems and sources, to facilitate identification of improvement and Quality opportunities
  • Trains and guides other organizations in matters relating to quality and its development
  • Participates in European Quality Task force team
  • Leads Hygiene Management Systems
  • Leads Quality / Technical projects as required
  • Participates in Continuous Improvement (CI) and Daily Management (DM) processes
  • As a member of the plant leadership team ensures that the plant is producing high quality products, delivers against our committed customer service goals and optimises efficiency/productivity.
  • Drives a Quality Culture throughout the organisation

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in a Quality Leadership role
  • University Degree. Prefer a technical background such as chemical engineering or industrial management
  • Prior experience in manufacturing or industrial background. Flexible packaging preferred
  • Six Sigma
  • ISO 9001 / 14001 / BRC experience. ISO 13485 advantageous
